Digital Meter Comparison
VUKAR makes three families of standalone motor protection products: digital meters (the DM series), digital auto switches (DEV-K, DEV-P and DEV-N) and automatic water level controllers (DEV-H and DEV-G). Every model includes VUKAR motor safety, a cyclic timer and an auto off / stop timer, so the tables below show only what actually differs between models. Any model with a water level controller also includes a water level indicator.
These are the control units on their own. If you want a complete ready-made panel instead, see the motor starter panel pricelist and comparison.
Quick answer: which device do you need?
- You have an overhead tank and want the pump to start and stop by itself — choose a water level controller: DEV-H (single phase) or DEV-G (three phase), or a digital meter with LLC or RTLC in the code. All of these show the tank level as well as acting on it.
- You want the pump to restart on its own when power returns — choose a digital auto switch: DEV-K (single phase) or DEV-P / DEV-N (three phase).
- You want the pump to run at fixed times of day — choose any model with a clock timer: DEV-K3, DEV-K4, DEV-P2, DEV-H3, DEV-H4, DEV-G3, DEV-G4, or a meter with CCCT or RTLC in the code.
- You want a panel-mounting meter with a display — choose the DM series.
Digital meters: DM series comparison
| Model | Phase | Water Level Controller | Water Level Indicator | Clock Timer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DM-SP-CYC-96 | Single | No | No | No |
| DM-SP-LLC-96 | Single | Yes | Yes | No |
| DM-SP-CCCT-96 | Single | No | No | Yes |
| DM-SP-RTLC-96 | Single | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| DM-TP-CYC-96 | Three | No | No | No |
| DM-TP-LLC-96 | Three | Yes | Yes | No |
| DM-TP-CCCT-96 | Three | No | No | Yes |
| DM-TP-RTLC-96 | Three | Yes | Yes | Yes |
In the DM code, SP and TP are single phase and three phase. CYC is the base model, LLC adds the water level controller and indicator, CCCT adds the clock timer, and RTLC has both.
Digital auto switches: DEV-K, DEV-P and DEV-N comparison
None of the auto switches include a water level controller. If you need automatic tank control, use a DEV-H or DEV-G water level controller, or a DM meter with LLC or RTLC in the code.
| Model | Phase | Clock Timer | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| DEV-K1 | Single | No | 1–35 A |
| DEV-K2 | Single | No | 5–200 A |
| DEV-K3 | Single | Yes | 1–35 A |
| DEV-K4 | Single | Yes | 5–200 A |
| DEV-P1 | Three | No | — |
| DEV-P2 | Three | Yes | — |
| DEV-N | Three | No | 2–100 HP |
The DEV-K models are the heavy duty single phase range: K1 and K3 cover 1 to 35 A, K2 and K4 cover 5 to 200 A. A dash means the product page does not state a rating.
Automatic water level controllers: DEV-H and DEV-G comparison
All eight models include a water level controller and a water level indicator. What differs is the phase, the pump type, the float switch and the clock timer.
| Model | Phase | Pump type | Float Switch | Clock Timer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DEV-H1 | Single | Borewell | Single | No |
| DEV-H2 | Single | Openwell / Monoblock | Double | No |
| DEV-H3 | Single | Borewell | Single | Yes |
| DEV-H4 | Single | Openwell / Monoblock | Double | Yes |
| DEV-G1 | Three | Borewell | Single | No |
| DEV-G2 | Three | Openwell / Monoblock | Double | No |
| DEV-G3 | Three | Borewell | Single | Yes |
| DEV-G4 | Three | Openwell / Monoblock | Double | Yes |
DEV-H is the single phase range and DEV-G is the three phase range. Within each, 1 and 3 are borewell models with a single float switch, 2 and 4 are openwell and monoblock models with a double float switch, and 3 and 4 add a clock timer.
Frequently asked questions
Which VUKAR devices include a water level controller?
Twelve models: the DEV-H series (H1, H2, H3, H4), the DEV-G series (G1, G2, G3, G4), and the four digital meters with LLC or RTLC in the code — DM-SP-LLC-96, DM-SP-RTLC-96, DM-TP-LLC-96 and DM-TP-RTLC-96.
Do the models with a water level controller also show the water level?
Yes. Every VUKAR model with a water level controller includes a water level indicator as well, so all twelve display the tank level and act on it. The DEV-K, DEV-P and DEV-N auto switches and the CYC and CCCT meters have no water level controller.
Which VUKAR devices include a clock timer?
Eleven models: DEV-K3, DEV-K4, DEV-P2, DEV-H3, DEV-H4, DEV-G3, DEV-G4, DM-SP-CCCT-96, DM-SP-RTLC-96, DM-TP-CCCT-96 and DM-TP-RTLC-96.
Should I choose a single or double float switch?
VUKAR pairs a single float switch with borewell models (DEV-H1, DEV-H3, DEV-G1, DEV-G3) and a double float switch with openwell and monoblock models (DEV-H2, DEV-H4, DEV-G2, DEV-G4). Pick by pump type and the float switch follows.
What is the difference between the DEV-K, DEV-P and DEV-N auto switches?
DEV-K is the single phase range, rated 1 to 35 A (K1, K3) or 5 to 200 A (K2, K4). DEV-P and DEV-N are the three phase range; DEV-N covers 2 HP to 100 HP.
Do all VUKAR motor protection devices have a cyclic timer?
Yes. Motor safety, the cyclic timer and the auto off / stop timer are standard on every digital meter, auto switch and water level controller on this page, so they are not a reason to pick one model over another.
What is the difference between these devices and a VUKAR starter panel?
The products on this page are sold as control units on their own. A VUKAR starter panel is a complete ready-to-install panel. If you want a complete panel, see the motor starter panel pricelist and comparison.
