What does the FLT dr fault code mean on the VUKAR DM-Universal-V1 controller?

FLT dr is the dry run fault. The controller trips when the motor current stays below the Dry Run Ampere setting (dr) for longer than the Dry Run Trip Delay (drt), which indicates the pump is running without water. To reset: it clears automatically after the Rest Timer (rst) duration if the Cyclic Timer is enabled, or press and hold the MENU switch for 2 seconds for a manual reset, or turn the power OFF and then ON.

What do the hiu and lou voltage settings do?

hiu is the high voltage cut-off limit (settable 140-500 V) and lou is the low voltage cut-off limit (settable 130-490 V). If the supply voltage stays above hiu or below lou, the controller stops the motor to protect it. Note that the factory defaults - 500 V for hiu and 130 V for lou - are the disabling values, so voltage protection is effectively OFF as shipped until the installer sets real limits. Typical settings are 460 V and 350 V for three phase systems, and 270 V and 200 V for single phase systems.

Does the motor restart automatically after a dry run trip?

Yes, if the Cyclic Timer is enabled: the FLT dr fault clears automatically after the Rest Timer (rst) duration, which also gives a low-yield borewell time to recharge before the next pumping attempt. Without the Cyclic Timer, the fault must be cleared manually by holding the MENU switch for 2 seconds, or by turning the power OFF and ON. After a fault trip, the Auto Reset Timer (atc) sets how long the controller waits before attempting an automatic restart.

How do I set overload protection with the ol and olt parameters?

ol (Overload Ampere) is the maximum current the motor is allowed to draw - the manufacturer recommends setting it to 110% to 120% of the motor's rated full-load current. olt (Overload Trip Delay) is how long the motor may run above that current before the controller trips, typically 5 to 15 seconds depending on the motor's starting characteristics; setting olt to 0000 disables the overload trip. If the controller shows FLT oL, reset it by pressing and holding the MENU switch for 2 seconds, or by turning the power OFF and ON (the power reset works only when the olm parameter is set to No).

What does the ast (Auto Start Time) setting do after a power cut?

ast is the delay after power is restored before the motor starts automatically. It is settable from 0 to 999 seconds; the factory default is 30 seconds, and 60 to 300 seconds is the typical recommended range depending on the installation. Setting ast to 0000 disables the auto start facility.
