Independent home electrical planning tool
Home Electrical Load & Expansion Headroom Planner
Add current loads and planned appliances to compare an explicit simultaneous-use scenario with your sanctioned or connected load.
Step 2
Load and headroom result
Enter actual loads and simultaneous quantities to see headroom.

How the calculation works
Each row = nameplate watts × simultaneous quantity. Projected load adds planned rows. Headroom = entered limit − calculated scenario load.
Safety boundary
Arithmetic planning only. It does not approve wiring, breakers, protection, phase allocation, supply upgrades or compliance.
Use this planner to estimate current and planned home electrical load, simultaneous demand and remaining sanctioned-load headroom before adding appliances. Enter values for the actual appliances and supply arrangement you are reviewing.
What to enter
Record the existing and planned appliance loads requested by the planner and identify which may operate simultaneously. Use the applicable sanctioned-load value. The template controls the actual fields and calculations; this supporting copy does not replace its labels, formulas or result logic.
How to read the estimate
Review connected load, simultaneous demand and remaining headroom together. A positive headroom estimate is an early screen, not confirmation that a new appliance can be connected safely. Individual circuits, starting demand, wiring, main protection and supply conditions may impose separate limits.
Before adding appliances
Verify appliance nameplates, the current sanctioned load, distribution-board capacity and the condition of the existing installation. Have a qualified electrical professional assess the circuit, cable, earthing and protection requirements, and contact the electricity provider where a load increase is required.
