How to Read an AC BEE Energy Label Before Buying

Match the model and label year first. These two Blue Star store examples are explicitly marked 2025 BEE label.
- IE318RNU: the store lists 3 stars and ISEER 3.9.
- IE518RNUR: the store lists 5 stars and ISEER 5.05.
- Both examples use 2025 labels. Do not call them 2026 ratings.
- Ask for the unit’s label before using annual units in a calculator.
What do these names mean?
- R Series is Blue Star’s product-family name, not an energy grade.
- IE318RNU and IE518RNUR are different model codes. Keep every letter on the order.
- Inverter means the compressor can change speed. It does not mean a battery is included.
- BEE is India’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency. Its label helps compare energy use.
Read the label in this order
- Match the full model code to the box, unit and quotation.
- Check AC type and cooling capacity. A room still needs the right cooling size.
- Read the label period beside the stars.
- Copy ISEER and annual electricity units exactly.
- Keep a photo. A similar model’s label is not your model’s label.

Turn the label into a useful cost check
- Pause here: do you have annual units, or only input watts? They are different inputs.
- Get both exact labels before entering annual energy.
- Use one common test basis for both models.
- Add your use, electricity rate and current payable prices.
- Treat the answer as an estimate. Weather, room heat and temperature settings change use.
Ask before paying
- Can you show the complete label for this exact delivered unit?
- Does the invoice say IE318RNU or IE518RNUR?
- Why does this listing say 2025 BEE label? Which label comes on my unit?
- What are its annual units and full label period?
- What do delivery, installation and extra piping cost?
- Which warranty applies to the whole AC, compressor and control board?
Keep the price comparison fair
- Open the official store and enter your pincode.
- Confirm the selected model before using Add to cart.
- Compare the final payable amount, with the same installation items.
- A higher price does not explain itself. Ask for the written feature or service difference.
