How the calculation works

Battery energy = usable battery kWh × distance ÷ range. Accepted wall power is the lower of charger rated AC output and vehicle maximum AC acceptance. Estimated battery-side power = accepted wall power × efficiency. Time uses battery-side power; cost uses wall energy.

Important limits

Range and charging vary with conditions and charging taper. Home-load output is arithmetic only and does not approve an installation.
