How the calculation works
Utilization = recorded maximum demand ÷ contract demand. Headroom = contract demand minus recorded demand. The post-expansion scenario adds the full planned demand to every month; it does not assume diversity.
Cost-rule boundary
No universal tariff is built in. Cost appears only from entered rules and required provenance. It is not a bill forecast, legal interpretation or billing advice.
Decision boundary
The planner does not recommend reducing contract demand or changing supply. Billing definitions, ratchets, power factor, taxes, seasonal rules and utility approvals may materially change the result.
This planner reviews twelve months of recorded maximum demand against your present Contract Demand. It is intended for factories, commercial connections and other users planning an additional electrical load.
What to enter
Keep the Contract Demand and each month's recorded demand from the electricity bills ready. Enter the same unit used on the bills, normally kVA for demand-based connections. Add the proposed future load only when its expected contribution to peak demand is reasonably known.
How to use the result
The result shows observed headroom and highlights months that came close to or crossed the contract limit. Treat the suggested range as a planning screen, not as approval to connect equipment. Demand diversity, starting current, tariff rules and the distribution company's method can change the final requirement.
