Pump Delivery Pipe Size Buying Guide

Compare the inside width at the same flow. Then have the installer check pressure, joints, and the whole route.
- These examples are Ashirvad Agri Class 3 uPVC pressure-pipe variants.
- 63 mm and 75 mm name the outside size, not the water opening.
- Both list Class 3; that alone does not approve your pump pressure.

Read the full pipe label
- Agri is Ashirvad's agricultural pipe range name.
- uPVC means rigid, unplasticised PVC.
- Class 3 is the pressure class listed as 6 kgf/cm² in the manual.
- These are water-distribution pipe examples. Do not use this comparison to select a borewell column pipe.
Measure the route first
- Write the water flow needed at the far end.
- Measure the full pipe route, including rises and turns.
- List valves, bends, filters, and branches.
- Get the actual inside diameter for each exact pipe variant.
- Ask for the pump's operating and shut-off pressures.
- Note outdoor heat, burial, supports, and how the pipe will be joined.

Compare fairly, then complete the design
- Keep flow, pipe length, and water conditions the same for both entries.
- A larger inside width usually gives less straight-pipe friction at equal flow.
- The tool does not include every valve, bend, filter, or outlet loss.
- Add those losses before selecting the pump or final line.
- Do not convert a friction difference into promised electricity savings.

- Are the fittings, joints, solvent, valves, and supports included?
- Who checks pressure surges and the pump's closed-outlet condition?
- Does the quote include transport, laying, testing, and repair access?

- Request dealer details, stock, delivery, tax, and written terms.

- Compare total installed cost. A price per metre leaves out fittings and labour.
