Home Inverter Buying Guide: Load, Battery and Backup

Verified 2026-09-05 · By VUKAR Editorial Team

Which inverter fits your home load?

Compare the exact inverter first. Choose its battery and installed circuit separately.

  • List the lights, fans and devices that must run together.
  • Compare Zelio S 1250 and Optimus 1250+ by their published watt limits, not the number 1250.
  • Both list one 12 V battery. Get the exact battery model approved before ordering.
  • Ask for backup time at your actual load and a full installation quote.

Make a small load list

  • Write each device name and its running watts. Mark which ones run at the same time.
  • Keep optional loads in a second list. A kettle added later changes the plan.
  • Note any motor or compressor. Ask the maker about starting demand, not just running watts.
  • Say how long you need backup. Two hours and six hours are different battery jobs.

What does 1250 mean?

  • Zelio S and Optimus are Luminous series names. They are not safety grades.
  • 1250 is part of each model name. Neither page lists 1250 W output.
  • The current Optimus page says Optimus 1250+. Keep the plus sign on your order.
  • Pure sine wave describes the output shape. It does not prove every appliance will work.

Products you can evaluate

Two exact official-store examples, not a ranking. Battery compatibility remains a separate check.

Check current price and stock

Nearly the same watts. What should you compare next?

  • The two-watt difference is not a useful reason by itself to choose one.
  • Ask for the supported battery type and Ah range. Ah describes battery charge capacity, not inverter power.
  • Check the controls you need on the exact delivered unit. Optimus lists Eco and UPS modes.
  • For a computer, request written changeover and power-supply compatibility advice. A mode name alone is not a test.
  • Get the current manual. Do not use a review of a different Zelio or Optimus model as proof.

The few words that matter

Word Simple meaning Your buying check
W How much real power the load uses Keep the combined load within the maker's limit[S3]
VA Another electrical capacity limit Check this as well as watts[S3]
Ah Battery charge capacity Ask for voltage and rating conditions too[S4]
Recharge Putting energy back after a cut Check time before the next outage[S4]

Ask for one honest backup estimate

  • Give the seller the same device list used in the planner.
  • Ask for the battery model, starting charge, load and estimated hours on the quote.
  • Lead-acid batteries can provide less usable capacity when power is drawn faster. A single Ah number cannot promise hours.
  • Battery age and actual use can change the result. Keep the estimate separate from a written runtime test.
  • Pause before adding another battery: both listed inverters specify a one-battery, 12 V system.

Ask before paying

  • Will the invoice show the exact inverter and battery models?
  • Does my load fit both watt and VA limits, including starting needs?
  • Which battery type, size and charge settings are approved?
  • What are the changeover details for my computer or router?
  • Does the total include battery, trolley, wiring, protection, labour and delivery?
  • Who handles warranty visits, transport and battery replacement?
[S1] [S2] [S3]

Compare the installed price

  • Open each official model link and enter your pincode for the current quote.
  • Both product pages list one inverter in the box. Do not assume the battery is included.
  • Ask each seller to price the same battery and installation scope.
  • A higher price may cover different controls or services. Count only differences shown in the written quote.
  • Save the model page, invoice and warranty terms. A warranty period is not a promised working life.

Leave the wiring to a qualified installer

Stop and verify

Have the installer check earthing, safe changeover, protection and the battery location. Do not feed inverter power into a wall socket with an improvised lead.[S5]

This guide does not approve your home wiring or any inverter-battery pairing.[S5]

Quick questions

Will 1100 VA run a 1100 W load?

Do not assume that. These models list separate watt limits below 1100 W. Both limits matter.[S1] [S2] [S3]

Does a larger battery increase inverter watts?

No. The inverter's output limit still applies. Battery size is a separate compatibility and runtime decision.[S1] [S2] [S4]

Which one should I order?

Choose only after both fit the load. Then compare the exact controls, approved battery, installed price and service terms you need.[S1] [S2]

This comparison covers only the listed models, criteria, sources, and verification date. Omission or missing public data is not a negative judgement about any brand.
