Misting and Fogger Pumps: When a Cyclic Timer Fits
Mohit VekariaShare
A cyclic starter can operate a misting or fogger pump when the system is designed for repeated runs and pauses. Check the required pulse duration before choosing a model: TPM-A's confirmed ON/OFF adjustment is in minutes, so it should not be promised for seconds-based misting pulses.
Check whether misting needs minutes or seconds
Misting systems do not all work to the same routine. Some are intended for scheduled pump operation; others need short pulses or a response to environmental conditions.
Manual switching makes a repeated routine dependent on an operator. A suitable cyclic controller can repeat that routine, but the nozzle system and pump must tolerate it. The timer does not decide the required mist quantity, pressure or environmental target.
Specify the minimum ON time, minimum OFF time, permitted starts and whether any pressure or flow controls must remain in command. Do not copy a ventilation-fan schedule into a fogger application.
Candidate VUKAR starter panels
For a compatible three-phase DOL pump, TPM-A is the cyclic-panel candidate, subject to the minute-based timing requirement. For single phase, choose the panel for the actual pump and start circuit: BOM-G is relevant to compatible borewell/openwell duty, while MOM-C or OPM-C families may be relevant to monoblock or openwell arrangements.
These mappings are conditional. Exact pump compatibility and timer limits must be confirmed from the selected variant. A high-pressure package with its own electronic controller may require a different interface rather than direct replacement by a starter.
Check poultry-house conditions before timed misting
Poultry misting is a proposed application scenario for this guide. It is separate from the already covered ventilation-fan task.
A timer does not measure house conditions. If misting must depend on temperature, humidity or ventilation status, specify those inputs and their authority over the pump. Environmental management can support flock performance, but this panel mapping does not establish a quantified productivity improvement.
Have the responsible farm specialist set the operating conditions. More misting or a longer run is not automatically better.
Keep motor and process protection distinct
The starter's supported motor protection needs correct configuration. It does not prove that nozzles are clear, pressure is appropriate or water is reaching the intended area.
Specify what should happen if the source is unavailable, flow is unsuitable or a related fan is stopped. Do not assume these interlocks or remote alarms are standard features of a cyclic starter.
When to choose a different solution
Use a verified alternative if the application requires seconds-based pulses beyond the panel's capability, variable-speed control or unconfirmed sensor integration. If the existing package already performs the required sequence, replacing it may be unnecessary.
Commission the agreed cycle and interlocks before unattended use. The benefit is repeatable execution of the approved misting routine, with the limits kept visible.
